Envoys from President Donald Trump's Board of Peace sat down with Hamas representatives this weekend, hoping to salvage the Gaza ceasefire. It marked the first time the two sides have publicly met since the US-Israel war with Iran kicked off.
Hamas warned it could walk away from their previous ceasefire commitments if Israel keeps up the new restrictions on Gaza that were put in place during the Iran conflict.
But there was some progress: Israel announced it would reopen the Rafah crossing between Gaza and Egypt after the meeting, and one source said the decision came directly from those talks.
