This fascinating read from my colleague Jessica Donati starts out like a joke set-up: An Israeli-American businessman, a former State Department official and a decorated Green Beret pitched up in the Democratic Republic of Congo with a message for President Felix Tshisekedi from the Trump administration.
The story didn't end in laughter though as it details how, just two days later, they fled the country in fear of arrest.
